With nearly 60 years of development, Chen Shie He Rice Factory, underwent a transformation by establishing successful mechanized and automated rice milling techniques in 1998. Furthermore, plans were made to construct “Chen Shie He specialized rice production and marketing zones, Chihshang Township” in 2005 with the guidance and assistance of the Agriculture and Food Agency (AFA). Chen Shie He Rice Factory acquired the CAS rice certification and was made recipient of the best rice production-marketing zones nationwide award in 2009. In view of the long term promotion of Wan-an Village ecological environment, chairman Chen Shie He further worked with Mr. Chiu Chui-chang, Mr. Lin Long-Xing and Mr. Lin Long-Shan (winners of the 1^st, the 2^nd and the 3rd National Rice Quality Competition) to actively embark on enhancing the inspection of agricultural chemical residue in Chihshang Township, as well as expand the educational training to farmers. As Chen Shie He Rice Factory strives to apply sustainable ecological management, this has led to the prosperous development of local organic agriculture, and innovative healthy products to achieve customer-end satisfaction.
